Seattle Central College is primarily funded by public funds, but excellence often requires additional resources. By donating to a specific area of study, you can ensure that the program has the necessary equipment and programming to be successful. Programs can also often use in-kind gifts of equipment or tools.
21st Century Facilities
Ongoing capital support ensures that our students have access to innovative learning environments at each of our five unique locations. Thanks to private support, we recently opened the Health Education Center at Pacific Tower, the first facility of its kind that provides hands-on training opportunities to students while providing affordable healthcare for low-income patients.
Faculty & Professional Development
Sustaining quality education includes supporting knowledgeable, experienced instructors and staff. Thanks to private support, the Foundation distributes over $50,000 in individual grants to support faculty and professional development each year. The college’s Professional Development Committee oversees grant applications and distribution of these funds.
High quality academic support is crucial to supporting our diverse student population. Private support allows the Foundation to fund the BE Learning Center, which provides one-on-one tutoring in a variety of subjects. The Learning Center also offers program embedded tutoring services for specialized programs like Apparel Design, Culinary and English as a Second Language.
